Welcome to the Family
Burns is the oldest same-family owned western retail business in the world, celebrating 146 years of building heirloom quality
products. The business began in 1876 with founder Miles Lamonie Burns building leather saddle harness.
Since then, Burns has had six different shop names, six generations of ownership, and one family, one legacy, one
culture: COWBOY. Today, 5th and 6th generation owners have built the company into a brand that embraces the spirit
of the West by honoring previous generations.
At Burns, we embrace creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit in order to adapt to an ever-changing industry. We build
strong relationships with our customers and create wearable works of art in the form of hand-tooled leather saddles,
hand-engraved sterling silver belt buckles, hand-shaped fur felt hats, and handmade leather boots. As you can see, we
do a lot of work with our hands!
We aren’t afraid to learn something new and tackle a challenge. Our team is a family, and we work hard to hold each
other accountable to reach our goals, build our skills, and create our best work. We know how to have fun and are
ready to learn and grow along the way.
Our Core Values

We practice gratitude.
We take responsibility.
We are productive.
We ride for the brand.
We strive to be an expert in our field.
We work hard and have fun!
Meet the Experts
BRAYDAN SHAW
6th Generation Owner & President, Burns 1876
“I love being a member of the Burns team because all members know how to take responsibility. We take responsibility for
our problems, and for the solutions to those problems. Because we own our issues and solutions there is no room left for
spreading blame. It is so fun to set a massive team goal in a planning meeting and know that everyone on the team will
take responsibility for their part and we will succeed.”
MISTY SHAW
President, 1876 Media
"It always amazes me how willing our team is to serve one another. If I need help with a project at work or help with my
girls at home, someone from the team is always there. This "how can I serve you" mentality translates into how we
interact with our clients and community too. We strive to create fun, authentic experiences in everything we do while
meeting the needs of our team, clients, and community. I always say, "You get what you give," and I think Burns embodies
that statement through service."
DESTINY CRANE
6th Genration Owner & President, Burns Events
"At Burns we enjoy working hard in a fun, happy, helpful environment. This is evident at all of our Xtreme events.
Everyone shows up early to ensure the ground is ready, the cameras are set, and questions and concerns are answered.
Our team encourages each contestant as they head through the gate whether we have 150 runners or 550 runners. One
of our taglines for Xtreme is "Work hard, dream big," and this is exactly what we do."
ROCHELLE HORNE
President, Burns Management
“Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: It must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all.”
– William Faulkner
“At Burns we have an extreme amount of appreciation for the people, opportunities, challenges, and growth we
experience being a part of this amazing team. We are thankful for the industry and the part we play in helping keep the
Spirt of the West alive. We have an immense gratitude for the heritage and legacy that we get to be a part of nurturing
and growing. It's easy to come to work when you love and appreciate what you are doing and those around you.”
MATT WANNER
President, Burns Production
“It is so incredible how this team jumps out of their lane into another for the better good of any given situation. From the
president of the company unloading a show trailer to our talented craftsman and craftswomen framing a wall, and the
sales staff spending 3/4 of the year on the road to sell our wonderful products. The sleep lost and overtime spent really
exemplifies riding for the brand!"
JAKE QUARNBERG
President, Retail Operations
“We all have 24 hours in a day; being productive is being able to make the most of them. Creating good habits day after
day until we become that person that we have long aspired and worked to be is something we strive for at Burns. Once
a person is on the path of being productive daily, they can’t help but carry others along with them that want to emulate
their characteristics.”
WENDY J WINN
President, Outside Sales
“Burns helps each of us find our inner "win" as we strive to be experts. Expert is best described as getting better at
something known by deliberate practice, which basically means practicing in order to get better. At Burns we work, ask,
learn, help and ultimately grow together, offering and accepting positive feedback and suggestions on ways to improve
from one another. We want to be the best at what we do so we can achieve the “win” at the end of each day and be that
expert for our clients and our team.”
