Orders & Shipping

When will my order ship?

In-stock items leave our locations within 1 to 2 business days. Made to order pieces are built when you order them, and current build times are listed on each product page. You will receive tracking the moment your order is on its way.

What does "Made to Order" mean?

Some of our pieces, particularly our custom boots & buckles, are not pulled from a shelf. They are shaped, finished, and inspected for you after you place your order. It takes longer, and it is worth it. Current build times are anywhere from 6-8 weeks, with rarer exotic products potentially taking longer.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. International orders may be subject to duties and taxes assessed by your country, which are the responsibility of the recipient. Delivery times vary by destination.

Is a signature required on delivery?

No signature is not required for delivery.

How does the custom orders process work?

We are happy to bring your ideas to life. Get in contact with us to collaborate on your own heirloom quality item. You can start the process by phone or in any of our stores.

What is the difference between your hat qualities?

The short answer: the higher the beaver content, the finer, lighter, and more weather-resistant the felt. Our pure beaver felts represent the top of that range and will outlast and outperform anything below them. We are happy to walk you through the differences before you decide.

Do custom orders require a deposit?

payment is collected when the order is placed. Because each piece is built to your specifications, custom orders are [final sale / exchange eligible under specific conditions].

Can you recreate or restore an old hat?

What is your return policy?

Unworn, in-stock items in original condition may be returned within 10 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. Made to order and custom pieces are built specifically for you and are not eligible for returns. You can read our full return/exchange policy here.

My hat does not fit. Can I exchange it?

For in-stock hats, yes, within 10 days. We can often adjust the fit rather than remake the hat. Contact us and we will sort it out.

How do I start a return?

Product Care

How do I care for a felt hat?

Handle it by the brim, not the crown. Store it upside down on its crown or on a hat rack, away from heat and direct sun. Brush with a soft hat brush, counterclockwise, to lift dust. If it gets wet, shake it off, turn out the sweatband, and let it dry naturally. Never set it near a heater.

Can my hat get wet?

Quality beaver felt handles weather better than most people expect. Rain and snow will not ruin it. Let it dry slowly at room temperature and it will keep its shape. What it cannot handle is forced heat, so keep it off the dashboard and away from the hair dryer.

How do I care for leather goods

Keep leather away from prolonged moisture and direct heat. Condition it once or twice a year with bick 4 leather conditioner to keep it supple. Honest wear is part of the character of full grain leather, and it will look better at year ten than year one if you treat it right.

Sizing & Fit

Do your boots run true to size?

Yes, we offer different width sizes as well. Men's starts with 'D' with 'E' and 'EE' offering more width respectively. Similarly, Women's width sizing starts at

What if I am between sizes or unsure?

Reach out before you order. A short conversation saves an exchange, and our team fits hats every day. You are also welcome to be fitted in person at any of our locations.

How do I find my hat size?

Measure around your head about a half inch above your ears and eyebrows, where a hat naturally sits, using a soft tape. Match that measurement to our size chart. If you land between sizes, size up; a hat can be tightened, but not stretched far.

Not at all, walk-ins are always welcome. For custom hat consultations, give us a call and we'd be happy to find a time to give you our full attention.

Can I be fitted for a custom hat or boot in person?

Absolutely, and we recommend it. Visit any location and our team will measure you, walk you through design/style options, and start your order on the spot.
